Mark Zambon

Mark Zambon enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2003 to be a bomb disposal technician.  After two deployments to Iraq in 2004/2005 as a logistics Marine, Mark made the job change to Explosive Ordinance Disposal.

Mark reported to 1st Explosive Ordinance Disposal Company at Camp Pendleton, CA; deploying to Iraq once more and three follow-on depoloyments to Afghanistan.  Mark “rendered safe” and disposed of over two hundred enemy road side bombs in addition to thousands of other EOD missions.  In 2011, he earned two Purple Hearts after an IED blast cost him both his legs.

Mark became the first bilateral above knee amputee EOD Technician to return to duty as an instructor.  Mark had over 700 students he taught through classes and practical application.
